DESIGN
We challenged ourselves to build this feature-packed camper into a 6m long van. Creating a van with 4 travelling seats, a toilet/shower and a fixed bed above a generous garage whilst not feeling cramped was highly gratifying.
This needed some novel approaches, such as an asymmetric bed; long enough and wide enough to be comfortable without encroaching into the space needed for the shower or kitchen.
Heating and hot water are supplied by a diesel-powered Combi heater in the garage.
An onboard 100L water tank ensures a plentiful supply of water that is kept within the insulated cabin. There is also a 70L underslung waste water tank.
Large garage under the fixed double bed has room for all your gear.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
We used Victron Energy equipment throughout this build. The electrical system was designed from the ground up to be used for cooking, lighting, 12V power and 230V power, all whilst off-grid.
This was achieved with the following components:
2kVA Inverter/Charger
2x200Ah Lithium Batteries
280W Solar Power
30A Battery to battery charging (when on the road)
Touch Screen System Monitor with integral fresh and waste water gauges
Automatic water pump control
4G Wifi network
2 x 800W induction hob
80L Compressor Fridge/Freezer
12V and 230V plugs throughout the van
THE RESULT
A layout that maximises space utilisation, whilst still being practical.
Huge amounts of useful storage; integrated induction hob; a high-level fridge/freezer is both practical and efficient.
Combining the latest lithium battery technologies and solar panels on the roof you can use this van indefinitely in the summer months, even when cooking on the induction hob. Bring your air fryer along too, there’s a large drawer ready and the power system is built with this in mind.
Beautiful custom upholstery ties the vibrant colour palette together.
